Latest news on the Nashville shooting, which took place on 27 March 2023 at The Covenant School, a private Christian school in Nashville, Tennessee, resulting in the loss of six lives, three children and three adults. The shooter was identified as a 28-year-old former student of the school who identified as transgender, armed with three guns and wearing a protective vest.
After shooting through a locked door, the shooter walked around the school corridors, firing shots on both floors and also shooting at police cars that arrived at the scene. The police entered the school and shot the perpetrator dead within 14 minutes of receiving the first call about the incident, with one officer injured.
The shooting has sparked outrage and grief in the community and across the country, with the school and government officials expressing their condolences to the families and pushing for gun control legislation.
