    About our Diogo Jota news

Latest news on Diogo Jota, a Portuguese professional footballer who primarily played as a forward and came through the Paços de Ferreira youth system. After breaking into the first team at Paços de Ferreira, Jota was signed by Spanish giants Atletico Madrid where during his spell with the club he was loaned out to Porto and Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Midway through his loan spell at Wolves it was announced the EFL Championship side would be making his move permanent at the end of the season. Diogo Jota went on to play a pivotal role for Wolves over the next two seasons as the West Midlands side successfully established themselves as a Premier League mainstay.

In the summer of 2020, Jota left Wolves and signed for fellow Premier League club Liverpool FC where he went on to win multiple honours such as the Premier League, FA Cup and two EFL Cups. Outside of club football Diogo Jota achieved success with the Portuguese national team where he established himself as a key player in their journey to winning two UEFA Nations League titles.

On July 3, 2025 it was announced that Diogo Jota had died in a car accident at the age of 28.
