About our Gibran Rakabuming Raka news

Latest news on Gibran Rakabuming Raka, born on October 1, 1987, an Indonesian entrepreneur and politician, known as the eldest son of Indonesia's President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo.

Gibran Rakabuming Raka served as the Mayor of Surakarta, having been inaugurated on February 26, 2021. As of October 2023, he has been nominated as the vice-presidential candidate alongside presidential candidate Prabowo Subianto for the 2024 Indonesian presidential election. His nomination was officially declared by the Golkar party, which is part of Prabowo Subianto's coalition.

Initially, Gibran was ineligible to run for the vice-presidency due to his age. However, a Constitutional Court ruling allowed him to become one of the 'strongest' vice-presidential candidates for the upcoming election, running alongside Prabowo Subianto.
