Latest news on Joselu, a Spanish professional footballer who plays as a forward for Espanyol and the Spain national team, on loan at Real Madrid from 1 July 2023. Joselu was born in Stuttgart, Germany, and started his career with Celta de Vigo before being bought by Real Madrid in 2009. He played for several clubs in Germany and England, including Hoffenheim, Eintracht Frankfurt, Hannover 96, Stoke City, Newcastle United and Alavés. He scored 16 goals for Espanyol in the 2022–23 season, helping them win promotion to La Liga.
Joselu made his international debut for Spain in June 2023, scoring twice in two minutes against Norway in a Euro 2024 qualifier. He also scored the winner against Italy in the Nations League semi-final, sending Spain to the final against Croatia. Joselu is the oldest player to make a Spain debut since 2006.
