    CM Punk News

CM Punk is an American professional wrestler currently signed to AEW (All Elite Wrestling). Born in 1978 in Chicago, CM Punk (Phillip Brooks) began his professional wrestling career in 1999 after gaining recognition on the independent circuit. Best known for his self-taught wrestling skills, microphone ability and straight edge lifestyle, CM Punk competed in Ring of Honor (ROH) before signing with WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment) in 2005. During his time with the WWE, the self-proclaimed ‘Best in the World’ won the World Tag Team Championship, back-to-back Money in the Bank matches, the World Heavyweight Championship, and the WWE Championship on two occasions. His second WWE Championship title reign lasted 434 days and remains the sixth-longest longest in the company's history. CM Punk retired from professional wrestling in 2014 after becoming disillusioned with the WWE. During this time CM Punk pursued a career as a mixed martial arts fighter and signed with the UFC where he lost two professional fights, though the second result was overturned. After a seven year break from professional wrestling CM Punk returned to the industry in 2021 to sign with Tony Khan’s AEW promotion.
